Best Time to Visit:-

  • The summer months in Andaman and Nicobar Islands last from April to June. The average temperature ranges from twenty-five degrees Celsius to thirty-two degrees Celsius. The weather is pleasant, and this is the best time to visit the island if you are interested in water sports. The sky is clear, and the crystal blue waters allow you to enjoy Andaman and Nicobar Islands to their best.
  • The monsoon months, extending from July to September, are not the best time to visit the islands. The island is characteristic of torrential rains and high tides. Hence, you cannot go for any water sports during this time.
  • The winter months range from October to March. The temperature during this period is moderate, from twenty degrees Celsius to thirty degrees Celsius. The weather is pleasant, and a great time to visit the island. Andaman and Nicobar Islands also receive winter rainfall, but it is not as torrential as the monsoon rains.

Best Places for Scuba Diving:-

  • Havelock Island: This is probably the most famous and well-known island among Andaman and Nicobar Island islands. There are several locations where you can go scuba diving in Havelock. Barracuda City is filled with coral reefs and is home to several sea turtles. You shall also find soft and hard corals here. Pilot Reef, which is twenty-four meters deep, has a decent population of hard reefs. These reefs are home to several fishes like Leopard and Whitenip Sharks. Minvera Bridge, too, has a large population of hard corals. But, it is advisable only for experienced divers to go there. 
  • North Bay Island: This relatively small island is situated near Ross Island. It is one of the best places for scuba diving in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Compared to other locations, the price of scuba diving is lower here. The island boasts clear blue water and a line of corals and offers you one of the best diving experiences. 

Neil Island: Although it is known for providing luxury accommodation to guests, Neil Island has some of the best scuba diving spots in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Busy Burro, Junction, Margerita, and the Lighthouse are among the best places where you can go for scuba diving on Neil Island. The water currents here are medium. The depth is also moderate, so it will not pose a problem even if you do not have much experience. Alive corals adorn the shoreline and the underwater. So, scuba diving here will be a one-of-a-lifetime experience.

  • Barren Island: This island is home to the only active volcano in Asia. This makes Barren Island one of the most exciting places where you can go scuba diving. Being completely uninhabited, the island’s water is home to several rare animals like the silver garden eels, large manta rays of up to six meters, white-tip reef sharks, turtles, barracuda, dogtooth tuna, and travelly. The island also boasts of alive coral reefs.
