There is a big difference between a Paraglider & a Parachute. A Paraglider pilot carries a parachute in his or her harness (seat) as an emergency reserve parachute.
Paragliding is very unlike Parasailing. Paragliding is about flying, where a Paraglider like any sport aircraft can travel long distances like hundreds of kilometers and stay airborne for several hours. These flights are of a very short duration lasting a few minutes only.
